Lisa Black says the best five years of her life were spent in the county morgue. As a forensic scientist for the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office, Lisa gathered a wealth of knowledge that she has utilized to become a prolific New York Times best-selling author. In her latest book, Unpunished, the Cleveland native explores the death of a copy editor at the fictional Cleveland Herald. When the man is found hanging above the wheels of the paper’s printing press, forensic investigator Maggie Gardiner has her suspicions about the apparent suicide. When the evidence suggests murder, she must place her trust in Jack Renner, a person she doesn't trust at all. Jack Renner has used his skills and connections as a homicide detective to take the law into his own hands, all in the name of justice. But when more newspaper employees are slain, Jack may be the only one who can help Maggie unmask the killer.

Lisa is a certified latent fingerprint examiner and crime scene investigator in Cape Coral, FL. She is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the International Association for Identification, and the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts, and has testified in more than fifty homicide trials.
