Fable Writing Workshops

How did Aesop come up with all those fables? Did you know James Thurber wrote some fables of his very own? You’ll learn all of this and much more at our Fable Writing Workshops at a library near you!

Join our teachers as they take you into the fantastic world of fables. This free two-hour workshop is open to all 4th - 6th graders. You’ll hear examples of fables from James Thurber, learn what makes a fable, and then put your imagination to the test and compose your own.

Fable Writing Workshops take place at local libraries each spring. Check back in February for more details!

Instructors: Sarah Magill and Valerie Cumming are both freelance writers who have taught various classes at Thurber Summer Writing Camp, Writing Wizards classes, and our Fable Writing Workshops.

Please contact Jessica Sarber at jsarber@thurberhouse.org with any questions about Fable Writing Workshops.
