Evenings with Authors

Evenings with Authors is a series of readings featuring nationally known bestselling authors. Past authors have included Jodi Picoult, Simon Winchester, Alexander McCall Smith, Lisa See, Michael Connelly, Adriana Trigiani, and Lee Child, among many others. Each author reads and chats for approximately 45 minutes, then answers questions for 15 minutes. A coffee and cookie reception follows, where the audience can buy the author's books and get them signed. Evenings with Authors take place at the Columbus Museum of Art, 480 E. Broad St. There are two seasons: Winter/Spring (January–May) and Fall (September–December).

The Author's Table is a special bonus with many of our authors. This is a private dinner with the author before the reading event. Attendance is limited, and reservations need to be made in advance. For information, or to make reservations, contact Anne Touvell at 614-464-1032 x.10.

The 2015 Fall Evenings with Authors series will be announced on August 2!

Summer Literary Picnics

Enjoy good food, good friends, and good books with the Summer Literary Picnic series featuring readings by Ohio-connected authors on the side lawn of Thurber House. The series offers two options: tickets for the reading only, or tickets for a catered picnic and the reading. Past authors have included Kevin Boyle, Joe Blundo, Jeni Britton Bauer, Julia Keller, Margaret Peterson Haddix, and Jennifer Crusie, among many others. Just bring your lawn chairs and enjoy!

Special Events

Every once in a while, Thurber House will hold extra events during the year.  They are similar to our Evenings with Authors but may be in a different venue or a different format or a little more, well, special.  Past authors have included Suze Orman, Anna Quindlen, Justin Cronin, Jane Pauley, and Janet Evanovich.

Currently, tickets are on sale for a special event with Lisa Green on Monday, August 24!
