Bob Hunter: Summer Literary Picnic

  • Thurber House 77 Jefferson Avenue Columbus, OH, 43215 United States

Bob Hunter is a sports columnist at The Columbus Dispatch and author of several books including Saint Woody: The History and Fanaticism of Ohio State Football, and Chic: The Extraordinary Rise of Ohio State Football and the Tragic Schoolboy Athlete Who Made It Happen.

His latest book is Thurberville. Thurber’s Columbus was a wild and crazy place, a city full of fascinating and sometimes peculiar characters, often in his own family. Thurberville chronicles these characters, and also examines the real city that raised him before eventually sending him off to achieve international fame, in part by writing about those subjects he left behind. Prior to becoming a columnist, Hunter covered Ohio State football and basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, and Ohio high school sports.

Picnicking begins at 5:30, and the program will start at 6:45.
