Summer Literary Picnic Schedule and Information
Thurber House is pleased to offer the 32nd summer of outdoor literary picnics and readings with authors who have an Ohio connection. Please join us on the Thurber House lawn for six evenings of good friends, good food, and great books.
If you decide to order the delicious picnic dinner, Party Panache will once again be providing fresh individually boxed meals – true picnic style. You are also free to bring your own dinner.
Starting at 5:30 p.m.: Our young docents offer guided tours of the house.
5:30 p.m. – 6:40 p.m.: You may pick up your pre-ordered boxed dinner at any point within this time frame. If you would like to order dinner from us, please make your reservation by 4:00 p.m. on the Monday before the picnic.
6:45 p.m.: The program begins. Thurber House remains open after the reading for touring, book buying, and signing.
Please bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets. You are also welcome to bring alcoholic beverages. Parking on Jefferson Avenue is metered. The lots behind Thurber House and at the corner of Jefferson and Long St. are free. All picnics are held at Thurber House, 77 Jefferson Avenue. In case of rain, join us at the State Auto Insurance (518 E. Broad St.) for all picnics except for July 19th, which will be Thurber Center, 91 Jefferson Ave.
Thurber House proudly supports the Mid Ohio Food Bank. Please consider bringing any canned or boxed goods you can spare when you attend any of our picnics this summer.
