Thurber House offers a variety of programs for professional and aspiring writers of all ages.

For adults, we offer:
- The renowned Thurber Prize for American Humor, the nation's highest honor of the art of humor writing.
- The biennial Columbus Literary Awards, given to writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry who currently live in Franklin County.
- Children's Writer-in-Residence program for writers of children's books.
