Thurber House Young Writers' Studio
School’s out for summer... now what? Jazz up your novels, perk up your poetry, add depth to your autobiography, and enjoy writing just for the fun of it. Join other young writers from the central Ohio area and expand your creative writing horizons with Thurber House’s Young Writers’ Studio.
The Studio is a supportive environment where writers in the 9th through 12th grades come and workshop their writings. Past participants have showcased diverse styles of work including fantasy, social issues, screenwriting, cartoons, film noir, poetry, and more. The facilitator and instructor of the group is Columbus Dispatch freelance writer Kelli Trinoskey. Guest speakers and authors provide their expertise throughout the series.
All sessions are held every other Wednesday from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Thurber House, 77 Jefferson Avenue in Columbus. The summer session dates are: June 18, July 2, July 16, July 30, Aug. 6*, Aug. 13. No need to register, just drop in and pay $15 per session. Come to as many as you can.
