ABOUT THURBER CENTER
Thurber Center is a contemporary conference and classroom facility adjacent to Thurber House, James Thurber’s historic home on Jefferson Avenue. It is one of twelve brick buildings housing non-profit organizations. Jefferson Avenue's scenic elliptical park and dozens of mature trees make it easy to forget that you are literally seconds from access to Route I-71.
Thurber Center can accommodate meetings, seminars, training sessions, receptions, parties, and retreats. Individuals, organizations, and businesses are invited to rent part or the entire Center on a one-time or an ongoing basis.
Thurber Center is located at 91 Jefferson Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215.
Thurber Center Facilities
Thurber House is a two-story multipurpose facility. Amenities include a full kitchen with refrigerator, oven, microwave, and sink; a front covered porch; and a sculpture garden between Thurber Center and Thurber House. The first floor of Thurber Center is handicap accessible via a wheelchair ramp. Wireless internet is available in both Thurber House and Thurber Center.
Free parking is available in the lot behind Thurber House and Thurber Center and in the large Jefferson Avenue Center lot at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Long Street. Parking on Jefferson Avenue is metered. Parking meters are free on Sundays.
